Mark Skidmore founded Flux Mentoring and Tuition in in 2019. Working with children and young adults at his gym in Warmley he began to identify issues in the local community and approached schools at an attempt to collaborate and and help build bridges between parents/carers and schools.

Mark used his experience as a professional mixed martial artist to build rapport with young people where they would set goals together. The impact was a success and it was common to see improved attendance, behaviour and a lift in children's mental health.

Mark then decided to broaden the scope for support and provided off site provision for those who were either struggling to attend or were faced with a possibility of exclusion.

Flux Mentoring and Tuition now other a wide range of support including Martial arts and fitness and Maths and English tutoring with an aim to remotivate and reintegrate into mainstream school where possible. Flux mentoring have also been able to support students on a long term basis and provide support with early college placements.

At Flux, it is our passion and goal to support as many schools and young people as possible and we believe that with early intervention and networking we are able to provide that service to a high standard.
